Step 1: Capture a High-Resolution Photo of the Handwritten Letter
Start by taking a clear, high-resolution photo of the handwritten letter.
Crop away any unnecessary borders and keep only the actual letter content. A clean source image makes it easier to trace the handwriting in Inkscape.
Step 2: Define the Paper Size in Inkscape
Open the cropped handwritten letter image in Inkscape.
Go to:
File > Document Properties
Enter the actual paper size and choose the correct orientation.
In this example, the paper size is A6 in landscape orientation.
Step 3: Convert the Handwriting into Vector Paths

Step 6: Optimize the Drawing Paths
In Inkscape, go to:
Extensions > iDraw HSE Control
Then select:
Options > Advanced
Rearrange the paths according to your requirements.
This helps reduce unnecessary pen-up movements, such as moving from the left side to the right side and then returning again.
After arranging the paths, return to the Plot page and click Apply.
The iDraw H SE Pen Plotter will then begin plotting the handwritten content.
Step 7: Check the Reproduced Letter
After the plotting process is complete, check the reproduced letter and compare it with the original handwritten letter.
